Media Editing Lesson Plan
Lesson: 11 - Edit images through different tools & create a gif.

Purpose:Learn how to modify the images and create a gif using animation.

1 - (Time : 1:30 minutes, Laptops/desktops : 10, Students strength : 15 to 20).

Materials Required

Laptop, Internet connection with Photopea software, E-mail id with password.

Curriculum Content 2.3) Erase, manual retouch, clone, editing background etc.
Prior knowledge

Students should know about basic Computer knowledge like, right click, left click, double click, drag and be able to download images.

Exercises

Exercise:1


1. Students use an eraser tool with its parameters in Photopea to erase the background around a particular object.

2. Students erase the solid, gradient and multicolour background.

3. Students remove the blemishes from a person’s face.

4. Students with the help of clone tool and healing brush tool, create a duplicate copy of an object in an image.

Teacher's Instruction
  1. While the students learn the teacher should observe whether they articulate the words like eraser tool, background eraser, magic eraser, hardness, gradient, solid, multicolour, spot healing brush tool, clone tool, healing brush tool and be familiar.
  2. Guidance should be given for the students for every exercise and allow them to share in their peer group.
  3. Ask children to observe how PSD files are organized as layers. Also make them note the advantages of organizing in layers (i.e. Background can be erased without affecting the foreground flower).
  4. Ask them to think about why the magic eraser doesn't work with a more complex background.
